Ghost Ranch

3 Jahre haben sich SotVR Zeit genommen, im Frühjahr 2024 erscheint nun das neue Album „Ghost Ranch“ auf Fluff & Gravy Records. Im kommenden Jahr werden SotVR damit in Österreich und Deutschland auf Tour gehen.

Das Album wurde im Red Barn Recorders-Studio in der kalifornischen Wüste eingespielt. Mitgewirkt haben - unter anderen - so illustre Gäste wie Marc Ribot an der Gitarre, Jolie Holland als Back-up-Sängerin und an der Violine oder Jay Bellerose am Schlagzeug. Nichtsdestotrotz ist die Instrumentierung so sparsam und transparent wie nie zuvor bei SotVR.

Live werden die Songs noch einmal auf ihren Kern reduziert. SotVR werden im Duo auftreten. Heike bedient nun, neben diversen Tasteninstrumenten auch das Schlagwerk.

Das neue Programm umfasst Songs aus dem aktuellen Album, viele Highlights aus dem Back-Katalog und zeichnet sich durch besondere Vielfalt und Dynamik aus. Die Bandbreite reicht von fragilem Neo-Folk-Chanson bis zu rauem Garage-Rock.

JOE CITY GARCIA is a unique songwriter, guitarist, and an especially engaging and dynamic solo performer whose songs intermingle poetic depth with dark humor and rhythmic energy, often evoking the vibes and elements of his home-terrain in the California high desert.

For a few years, this Joshua Tree artist was a regular visitor to Austria at the invitation of Son of the Velvet Rat mastermind Georg Altziebler, where he toured solo and also in support of SotVR.

After a few seasons away, Garcia celebrates a return to share the stage with SotVR on June 28 at die Brücke in Graz, and will also play solo shows in Hartberg, Linz, Vienna, and Wels.

His latest album, Give Me to the Wind, will be available on vinyl.
